Harpenden has plenty of variety for a dog walk without using the same circuit every day. Harpenden Common offers broad paths and open ground, while Rothamsted Park is useful for a structured walk close to town. The Nickey Line provides a flatter, more predictable route for dogs who need steady lead exercise, and the paths around Batford Springs and the River Lea can give confident dogs new scents and surroundings.

We choose the route and time carefully. The Common can be lively around school times and weekends, so a nervous dog may be better suited to a quieter solo slot. Dogs with reliable social skills can join a small group, but introductions happen gradually and groups remain limited to three or four. We also adjust walks for seasonal hazards, muddy paths, hot weather and any local livestock or wildlife.

Collections are available from homes in Harpenden and Batford, subject to scheduling and a safe key arrangement. After each walk, dogs are returned securely, offered fresh water and dried when needed. Puppies and older dogs who do not need a full walk can instead have a home visit for a toilet break, meal, medication instructions or calm company. Every new customer receives a meet-and-greet and free trial walk before regular bookings begin.
